I'm Chunyu Zhang — most people here call me Wendy. I've spent twenty years investing in healthcare: medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and more recently the AI systems changing how these companies get built. I work in both directions across the Pacific — helping U.S. healthcare companies find a real path into Asia, and helping Chinese healthcare and manufacturing companies reach markets they're usually told are closed to them. I put my own capital behind the ones I believe in.
What I work on

Regulatory path, distribution partners, local manufacturing, the first ten customers. Not an introduction service — I stay in it until something ships.

Medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare services. I invest my own capital and work alongside founders, usually on the parts of the business that touch Asia.

Where AI actually changes the work — research, diagnostics, how a company operates. I build software myself, which keeps me honest about how hard shipping is.

I started on the investing side of medical devices and pharmaceuticals, and moved toward AI as it became the thing actually changing how these companies get built. Healthcare has stayed the constant. I've sat on both sides of a cross-border deal often enough to know where they usually break — and the traffic runs both ways.
I'm an alumna of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. I work between Silicon Valley and Greater China.
